The \u201cEnergy Conservation Grand Prize\u201d is organized by the Energy Conservation Center, Japan, and honors outstanding energy-saving activities by companies and municipalities, as well as advanced energy-saving products developed through technological innovation. The award ceremony will be held at Tokyo Big Sight on January 28, 2026.\r\n<h>\r\n[Energy Conservation Case Study Division, Electricity Demand Optimization Field, Director-General\u2019s Award from the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy]\r\n\u201cPromotion of energy conservation through thorough utilization of groundwater\u201d\r\n\r\nThis case involves efforts to reduce energy consumption from both energy conservation and energy creation* perspectives at a facility where electricity accounts for 99% of energy usage. At DENSO Trim, air conditioning accounts for 24% of total electricity consumption, and due to the location, abundant groundwater is available. Therefore, the company promoted energy conservation by maximizing the cooling capability of groundwater to reduce air conditioning load. Specifically, several methods were used to reduce electricity demand, such as cooling air conditioning intake air, spraying groundwater on rooftops and outdoor units, and lowering roof temperatures.
